This chapter discusses Eros: the concept of the connection of marital love (or passionate love) with sexual desire and longing. It describes how Eros is envisioned in the kabbalah, and other portrayals of religious experience related with erotic symbolism. It focuses on the view of contemplative life, which is the imaginal envisioning of invisible forms and revelation of poetic secrets that were concealed.
