Chapter 10 is the second part of the history of the efforts to extend the IND Concourse line into the Northeast Bronx and how those plans led to New York City’s obtaining the right-of-way of the New York, Westchester and Boston Railway and converting it into the IRT Dyre Avenue line. Emphasis is given to the struggles between the community groups and elected officials supporting the different plans and a second fight to stop Robert Moses’ plan to build a highway using the right-of way.
