This chapter comments on critical theorist Andrew Feenberg's recent book titled Questioning Technology. This book presents Feenberg's most successful attempt to construct a major revision of the critique of technology advanced by his mentor Herbert Marcuse and other first-generation critical theorists and the succeeding generation. However, a closer examination of the book suggests that Feenberg has moved away from some of the core ideas of Marcuse and the earlier critical theorists and towards pragmatism.
