Gabriel Riera

Fordham University Press

This chapter examines the concept of figuration and the enigma of manifestation in the works of Martin Heidegger. It states that Heidegger's detour through Friedrich's poetry has left the project of “overcoming of aesthetics” in disarray and opened the path to a “step back” from metaphysics and a radical redefinition of language. Despite this Heidegger's thought should not be considered a poetic thinking nor a conceptual retranslation of poetry's findings.
