The summer of 1963, just before Allen Jones turned thirteen, marked the beginning of his double life. On the face of it, he had everything going for him: a strong family, athletic talent, and a neighborhood with plenty of youth programs and mentors ready to keep young people on a straight path. However he also had an irresistible attraction to the dark side of life, and the Lester Patterson Houses provided ample opportunities for him to find trouble. He was a loaded cannon ready to go off at the slightest provocation. Fortunately, he managed to find a few girls at the school whose curiosity and boldness matched his. When it came to sex, Jones did not give up easily. The games they played in school got him excited, and it was difficult to find a way to satisfy his urgings on the Lester Patterson Houses' grounds.
